I am in gratitude to the people gathering at Standing Rock in prayer and peaceful protest against Dakota Pipeline, to the Tree Sisters who are campaigning to raise funds and support to plant a million trees this year, to people teaching and guiding in ways of consciousness, to the people who’ve created the amazing documentary Seed: The Untold Story, and all those who are supporting seeds and diversity, and moving against the corruption that is growing ever more destructive in Monsanto soon to be Bayer (to mask their name and reputation). I am so grateful to thousands and millions or others who are, in their own way, saying YES to LIFE, and NO to amnesia layered minds pushed on us by an addictive culture-driven persuasion. And NO to the insults we put upon Earth and her creatures by not tending to them nor the abuse being inflicted upon them.
In listening to an interview between Claire Dakin of Tree Sisters, and Nina Simmons of Bioneers, and Nina was recounting something she heard a Native man say (I’m sorry but no name was rendered). In a reference to Descartes’ famous proclamation “I think, therefore I am” this man wisely stated that this was one of the "loneliest statements" he’d ever heard. I loved that alone but he went on to suggest another statement we might inherit in its stead; “I THANK, therefore I am.”
Oh how touched I was to consider this as a proclamation of humans as beings willing to be in relationship…true relationships that are life-giving and held inside of the understanding that we are not separate from one another and all of us together promote life….at times simply by seeing, attending, and being in gratitude for it. Giving thanks….embodying reciprocity with all our relations, gives us our humanity…a kind of humanity we can be proud of.
Claire invites us into imagining ourselves as, and BECOMING a Restorer Species.
How about that?
Now THAT brings me alive and has me feel how I would swell with pride if I knew that were true for the majority of us, in intent and in action. We ARE strong enough, big enough, wise enough and alive enough still, to be that!!
And…from myself AS a Restorer Species who wants to help to decolonize the feminine from the paralyzing scripture written upon us by the patriarchy and a biased culture, I am appealing to you women who are in the final magical portion of your lives…to you women over 50, to join me in Circling Home!! I am partnering with my dear deep sighted and wise bodied friend, Delisa Myles to join with others who want to remember something of themselves and the grand lives they inhabit but don’t always see the immensity of. We are launching a series of events…this first being a 3 day retreat, November 3-6 in Clarkdale, Arizona. With my 20+ years of guiding nature based soul work and Delisa’s 20+ years of teaching dance at Prescott College, our combined work is nearly over 50 years itself and so, in fact, longing for, inspired towards, and ignited in offering this experience to women who are ready to meet the remainder of their days with their eyes wide open and through the mytho-poetic lens of mystery and earthy shine!
Please let me know if I can send you our invitation.
We’d love to have you join us!!
Restore, Rejuvenate, Recycle, Reuse, Renew, Re-member Re-Create!!
