And just now, in the garden…still, after all these weeks, I’m severing torn leaves that were punctured in a hail storm, from their sunflower and squash plant bodies. Now they are feeding the compost pile…lavishly. And I’m helping to tend some community thermal compost piles created through the teachings of Elaine Ingham’s revolutionary (or traditional!!!) work in composting that, given our participation, can literally turn the global warming issue around! Solutions are in our hands…literally…and yet…what stops us?
In the garden, moments ago, I was feeling the absolute treasure of Earth’s wisdom….we were given such an extravagantly well laid out Eden to live in…and no surprise, life is built on death! In the sorrow of the hail storm’s damage, the compost pile is now being fed and it will create new life! Pruning and allowing to die what needs to die, for all of us, is essentially life giving. Can we think that large? Can you see it?
So compost (true to my dream) is offering up words that may sound foreign to you, but they are true to our lives.
Transformation and cutting back is life giving!
